Here’s our breakdown of the video game soundtracks that were released in February 2021.

This list is far from comprehensive, and the soundtracks are listed in no particular order. We hope you’ll enjoy discovering other new soundtracks that you’ll love! 🙂

On that note, happy reading and listening!

LITTLE NIGHTMARES II, THE NIGHTMARE THAT BECAME REAL

Composer: Tobias Lilja

The sequel to the first terrifying opus was released on February 11. It’s high time we dove into Bandai Namco Entertainment’s latest creation: Little Nightmares II.

As was the case the first episode in the saga, Tobias Lilja produced the music for the game. In the horrific world of Little Nightmares II, there is very little room for conversation. Your ears are constantly bombarded by screams, disturbing sounds, and above all the music of Tobias Lilja, which fits perfectly into this nightmare that became real.

You can learn more about his work in this interview that we have dug up for you.

Unfortunately, for those who are proficient in the language of Shakespeare, there is no French translation available at this time.

It’s hard to choose a favorite track. But we especially like  “Etude for A Minor (Teacher Piano Theme)” which could almost make us forget who’s playing the piano…

THE CAPTAIN IS DEAD, THINGS ARE GETTING CRAZY ON THE SHIP

Composer: Occams Laser

The Captain is Dead is the latest game from Thunderbox Entertainment. The goal is simple: you play the new captain, and you have to keep the aliens from boarding your ship. What better way to set the scene for a game in space than with a Synthwave and Dark Synth artist!?

The composer of the soundtrack to The Captain is Dead is Occams Laser. With him, things are getting crazy on the ship. The game developers drew from the artist’s complete discography.

Again, it’s really hard to choose one track that stands out from the others. But then again, Synthwave and Dark Synth music is one of our guilty pleasures.

But if we had to choose just one: “Warriors of the Faith”.

BLUE FIRE, THE MUSIC’S POETRY IS BEWITCHING

Composer: Ariel Contreras-Esquivel

Blue Fire is a game from Argentina-based Robi Studios. Artist Ariel Contreras-Esquivel has composed the soundtrack that accompanies the player in their quest through a gloomy world. The studio made an excellent choice, because the music’s poetry is bewitching and makes us want to continue the adventure.

You’ll love the track “Fallen Gods”.

THE RUSTLER, THE RADIO LOS SANTOS OF THE MIDDLE AGES

Composers: Paweł Czerwiński, Krzysiek Kowal, Kacper Niezabitowski, Cornelius, Joseph

All right, this one is a change in atmosphere because we’re dealing with a UFO in terms of musical styles. But it’s such a pleasure to listen to the tracks from The Rustler. The game is like a medieval GTA clone. So, it’s like listening to the Radio Los Santos of the Middle Ages. A number of composers contributed to this album, but the artist Chervinsky is most prominent. In any case, they’ve done a great job. You can tell they had fun producing this soundtrack.

Our favorite track is “Pumpin Mumble” which will really liven things up in the tavern! 😉

Werewolf: The Apocalyspse – Earthblood, a warm-blooded composition.

Composers : Henri-Pierre Pellegrin and Alien Weaponry

To finish, we advise you a soundtrack from us, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood! Metal, electro and tribal atmosphere, in short, a cocktail of thrills and pleasure for 1h13. H-Pi dives this time into metal, his favorite genre, with the New Zealand band Alien Weaponry (whose 2 tracks are present on the soundtrack).
