Here’s our selection of video game soundtracks released in November 2021.
This is a non-exhaustive list without any classification hierarchy. We invite you to discover new soundtracks that will brighten up your day! 🙂
Winter, and of course Christmas, is approaching, as well as the end of year celebrations. Let’s see what’s new in video game soundtracks this month, they could make gift ideas! 😉
Ruined King, Provides its Share of Sensations

Composer: Gareth Cocker
Developed by Airship Syndicate and published by Riot Forge, Ruined King is a game set in the League of Legends universe. Solo RPG with a turn-based combat system, the game takes place in two regions of the world of Runeterra: Bilgewater and the Obscure Islands. The player will be able to form his own team with League of Legends champions.
To match this mysterious universe linked to the mysteries of the ocean, it was none other than Gareth Cocker who was appointed as the composer of the soundtrack. The artist takes us directly into the game’s atmosphere with his symphonic style. This is definitely not his first attempt, because we can find him on the soundtracks of ARK,
Ori and the blind forest & Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Or even Halo Infinite
In Ruined King, his use of choirs, but even moreso the string instruments with an exceptional sound design, hits the mark and provides its share of sensations.
We greatly appreciated the song, “Decisive Duel” which, unlike the rest of the soundtrack, is more cheerful and reminds us of piracy!

Kid A Mnesia Exhibition, A Sensory Experience

Composers: Radiohead
On the double anniversary of the release of their albums Kid A and Amnesiac, the British rock group Radiohead released a video game offering a unique sensory experience. The project is published by Epic Games and developed by [namethemachine] &Arbitrarily Good Productions.
In this completely free FPS, the player will go through an experience rather than “play”. Some moments can be quite intriguing or even disturbing. You must therefore be prepared to deal with visual content that is not appropriate for very sensitive people.
In Kid A Mnesia Exhibition, the player is led to discover a fragmented, reassembled and somewhat modified version of the two albums.
We particularly like the title track of this game: Everything In Its Right Place
Exo One, A True Auditory Trip

Composer: Rhys Lindsay
We continue into the experimental in terms of video games with Exo One. Developed by Exbleative and published by Future Friends Games and Exbleative, in this adventure the player embodies a spaceship from another world.
For this interplanetary journey through time and space, a soft and beautiful soundtrack was composed by Rhys Lindsay. This Australian uses his electric guitar for 99% of his music and the rest is a mix of synthesizers and vocals, as he explains in his Youtube bio.
Their attempt is a success, we are immediately transported without having really gone into space. The artist’s ambient songs take us on a journey and correspond perfectly with the universe that Exo One wants to create.
The song that stole our hearts was, A Sunset, a true auditory trip.

Unpacking, No Headaches, Just Zen

Composer: Jeff Van Dyck
Developed by Witch Beam and published by Humble Games, Unpacking is a “satisfying” game to say the least. A zen, relaxing game without too many headaches. Here, the goal is to put away your belongings and settle into your new home. There is no timer, no counting of points, just the pleasure of feeling good in your new home after a move.
To accompany our unpacking, it’s none other than Jeff Van Dyck, rewarded and nominated several times at the BAFTA‘s for his compositions on the Total War franchise, who took care of this soundtrack.
But this time we are far from the battlefields. The composer gives us a completely different version of his musical talent which proves to be very pleasing.
The standout instrument of this soundtrack is the acoustic guitar which brings its authentic and warm sounds, which fits perfectly with the aesthetics of the game. No headaches, just zen 😌
Our favorite music for relaxing:

Len’s Island, Perfect for Exploring

Composer: Lars Erik Fjøsne-Eide
Let’s continue our rather calm and relaxing game momentum with Len’s Island, published and developed by Flow Studio. Here the player will have to go explore, build, cultivate but also fight in order to discover the island that welcomes them.
Lars Erik Fjøsne-Eide is the composer behind the Len’s Island soundtrack. The softness of his music is completely adapted to the gameplay and it’s a real pleasure to hear his melodies during our various activities on the island.
We can listen to a fairly refined orchestral style with a few appearances from percussion and traditional instruments echoing the “natural” and sometimes “primitive” aspects of the game.
The track “Discovery” is perfect for exploring and discovering new horizons! 😊
