This is a non-exhaustive list without any classification hierarchy. We invite you to discover new soundtracks that will brighten up your day! 🙂

Have fun !

Narita Boy, 80’s Vibes Guaranteed

Composer : Salvinsky

Not just 1! Not just 2! Not 3! Not 4! Not 5! Not even 6… but no less than 50 songs can be found on the soundtrack for Narita Boy, developed by Studio Koba and published by Team 17, all composed by the artist Salvinsky.

80’s vibes guaranteed with this soundtrack featuring predominantly synthwave sounds that remind us of Tron‘s neon-colored universe. Salvinsky has mastered taking us on a journey through this futuristic retro 2D pixelated game. Plus, the composer perfectly integrates other musical styles that match the retro atmosphere of the game and for that, hats off!

And now, it’s time to reveal our own personal preference. The song “Dragon” wins this prize thanks to its epic style that we really enjoy!

Loop Hero, An 8-bit Soundtrack

Composer: blinch

Alright, we’re staying in the retro worlds by diving into the soundtrack of Loop Hero. This pixelated rogue-lite was published by Devolver Digital and developed by Four Quarters. The gameplay of Loop Hero uses mechanics from different genres: Roguelike, RPG, Strategy. Everything is based on a card game system, slightly complex but incredibly addictive.

But now let’s go straight to the music. Here we are excited to hear an 8-bit soundtrack signed by the artist blinch. These “chiptune” sounds bring back fond memories. They make us want to bust out our old consoles so we can once again hear the mythical sounds of this bygone era.

Our favorite song is “Steel Boss Run” with its arpeggios setting the rhythm.

DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods, Part II, Seriously Rockin’ Metal

Composers : Andrew Hulshult & David Levy

Now to change it up, we’re going to move from an 8-bit soundtrack to some seriously rockin’ metal. You saw it in the title, welcome to the world of Doom Eternal!

The famous franchise, developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, released the second part of its DLC, Ancient Gods in March 2021. And to orchestrate your alien hunting parties, Andrew Hulshult and David Levy composed this brutal soundtrack.

The song “Immora PT. 2” is our top pick, where we can imagine hearing the bursts of a machine gun in action. Needless to say, this one is great for letting off steam!

Unfortunately, we can’t provide you with official links on YouTube or Spotify, but you can still find the soundtrack by browsing the web a bit.

As consolation, here are the teasers that David Levy and Andrew Hulshult each made on their own. Enjoy!

Cartel Tycoon, Gets the Body Moving

Here is the list of artists present on the soundtrack to date:

Chico Unicorno

Dengue Dengue Dengue & Prisma

The Vicious Seeds

Orkesta Mendoza

Candeleros

C.A.M.P.O.S

Tribilin Sound

Alright, we’re going to completely change the atmosphere, turning to Cartel Tycoon‘s soundtrack, a game developed by Moon Moose and published by tinyBuild. Here, we go back to the 80s, but this time no inklings of retro futuristic tinged with neon. No ladies and gentlemen, this is all about managing our drug empire in Latin America.

To accompany you during your drug trafficking transactions, the soundtrack is orchestrated by several artists inspired by the sounds of South America and sunshine. Different musical styles from this continent, like Cumbia and Bossa Nova, seamlessly blend together. The musical atmosphere is reminiscent of the Narcos series featuring the infamous Pablo Escobar.

“Plata o plomo”

Our pick focuses on the song “El Bravo” by the artist Candeleros. The rhythm of this melody really gets the body moving. All we need now is a colorful cocktail topped with an umbrella and we feel like we’re really there.

It Takes Two, A Lot of Sweetness with a Hint of Melancholy

Composers : Kristofer Eng & Gustaf Grefberg

It Takes Two is a game published by Electronic Arts and developed by Hazelight. It has received critical acclaim and its soundtrack is directed by Kristofer Eng and Gustaf Grefberg.

In this game, we incarnate two dolls representing parents in the midst of family conflict. They’re tasked with evolving in an imaginary world created by their daughter. Very interesting subject matter to take on and the two artists behind the game’s music wonderfully succeed in taking us on a journey through their symphonic universe.

Kristofer Eng and Gustaf Grefberg manage to combine orchestral and electronic sounds. A lot of sweetness with a hint of melancholy emanates from this soundtrack.

Le thème principal du jeu nous a directement envoûté et séduit. The game’s main theme immediately captivated and seduced us.
